Software development for microcontrollers often requiers data exchange between the target hardware and the developer's computer.  This is often done through an RS232-port. This port is, well was excellent for the output of bug conditions (Debugging).   Modern computers don't have this port anymore and a double voltage conversion (USB → RS232, RS232 → 5/3.3V) would be necessary.  That makes the RS232 an extremely roundabout alternative.

For easier use of the RS232-port we have created a small MC-UART module to handle the data exchange with your target hardware over a modern USB-port.  The double voltage conversion is no longer necessary.  For your target hardware you can use either TTL-gauge (5V) or LVTTL-guage (3,3V).

The MC-UART module is compact (approximately 35mm x 18mm) and reliable alternative to RS232 solutions.
